Highview Hotel

The Highview Hotel is airly located on a hillside facing the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, near Karatu Village. It lies on the main game park safari route from Moshi and Arusha to Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro and the Serengeti. It is a new hotel with swimming pool just being completed (completion date summer 2009). It is designed on the same lines as the Springlands Hotel - simplicity combined with quality services. Several leg-stretching attractions are available: a Waterfall and Elephant-Carved-Cave Walk in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a visit to the Iraqw Cultural Home and Biogas Project and a visit to the Mwema Street Children Project in nearby Karatu village (the project is sponsored by the Highview). These trips can be done on foot or hiring a bike from the Highview. The hotel grounds themselves are extensive and staff can show you round the gardens and show you the Masaai Traditional Medicine hut.

The hotel is also an excellent base to visit the Ngorongoro Crater or one take a day excursion to walk to the Ngorongoro Crater or the Olmoti and Empakaai Craters.
